Representative Director
TOMOYUKI TAKECHI
Since the latter half of the 1990s, the Internet has spread to ordinary households, and communication speed has increased over time.
When ADSL lines were just beginning to spread, I became the president of the game development company "SQUARE" and began developing online games such as "Final Fantasy Online," which was launched in 2002.
In Final Fantasy Online, communities such as guilds (in-game alliances) and raids (in-game collaborations) naturally became a big part of the gameplay. In addition, we were able to successfully bring media and collaboration projects to fruition (manga and music).
At that time, I discovered the potential/possibility of human interaction through cooperative activities in the virtual space, and I continue to believe in its potential to this day.
As time passed, communication through mobile phones became faster as we advanced from "3G" to "4G", and it was around this time that YouTube took the world by storm.
The VR market, which we are currently taking on, has also grown steadily with the spread of devices that represent it, in addition to the development of "5G".
I have continued to challenge myself in the world of online games and virtual CG, and CTO Mizuno has been working hard to express real spaces in the virtual world with 360-degree live action. Together, we will strive to create a platform that can enable the construction of a new world.
